Thank you to all that came to the farm yesterday f Thank you to all that came to the farm yesterday for the big surprise... we received 1 million dollars from the @yawkeyfdns for Round the Bend Farm! There was so much joy to be had... free lunch (of course made with love from Shaun VanLaarhoven & Sophie Trudel), @equalexchange hot cocoa (served by Barry VanLaarhoven and his wife Amy), cookies and cupcakes (made by @renegadesrising and @artisanbakeshop ) and so many hugs, smiles and a room full of love! Thank you to our stellar board member Bernadette Souza for grounding us and opening our hearts for the remarks by our Executive Director & Co-Founder Desa VanLaarhoven. The room was filled with incredible leaders from our community all in the trenches doing the work to create a more just and love-filled restorative community. The team worked hard with all of the details-- special shoutout to Hannah Wylie for her leadership with Open Farm Days! And of course thank you to the stellar support of the Yawkey team especially Alicia Verity and Karen Greene! We are so blessed and look forward to continue our work!"What makes this partnership so meaningful isn’t just the funding though, - it’s the people behind it. And one of those people is Justin Morreale, a longstanding Trustee of the Yawkey Foundation, who’s here with us today with his lovely wife Adele and so many Yawkey Board memberThis new Yawkey Foundation grant will allow us to grow more food, reach more families, and continue educating and modeling a system of abundance that’s rooted in care - for the earth, for each other, and for future generations."
