Educating people of all ages is central to RTB’s mission. The farm is a living laboratory- where the potential for hands-on learning and experiential discovery is limitless. We provide school field trips with additional on-site workshops.
RTB’s educational programs are aligned to Massachusetts state science standards and support classroom learning. We welcome public, private, vocational and charter schools, as well as homeschooled students. We serve all grades through post secondary. We will work with educators to customize a relevant and engaging experience for youth.

Field trip structure and price break down:
Field trips are half-day experiences (4 hours) from 10:00am-2:00pm (timeframe is flexible) and include:
- 1.5 hours tour of the farm
- 30 minutes lunch
- Your choice of 2 or 4 of RTB’s educational offerings (each session lasts 30 minutes or an hour, depending on the age of students and desire of depth of content). Note: programs are season dependent and not always available. (click here for offerings)
$15 per student (sliding scale of $5-$20 per student)
Equitable access to education is important. Our educational programming is based on a sliding scale to ensure that all youth can experience the farm. On average we charge $15 per student- if you need to pay less (or can’t pay at all) that’s fine. Pay what you can and any amount above $15 will be applied to scholarships for other youth! Thanks for your generosity.
A brown bag lunch needs to be provided by the student or school. And don’t forget to bring a reusable water bottle. At RTB, we strive to eliminate waste as much as possible. This means minimizing trash- please take your trash with you when you leave. We can recycle or compost food scraps. In addition, if it is within the budget, and scheduling allows, we could serve a farm-fresh, organic lunch or snacks. Please inquire if interested.
