In 2019, RTB teammates Hannah and Tyler established Goatbusters, an agripreneurial business based at Round the Bend Farm. They manage a small diverse herd of Oberhasli, Nubian, Boer and Alpine goats. These goats rely primarily on perennial shrubs and grasses in the growing season, and nutrient-rich hay produced on the farm in the winter months. Goatbusters works inconjunction with RTB, Paradox Acres and Mass Audubon to rotate goats through the neighboring Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary, where efforts are being made to transition overgrown fields back into grasslands for bird habitat.
Goatbusters also offers land management services, a.k.a. goatscaping, to property owners and organizations who are looking to transform or restore landscapes through holistic practices. In addition, they provide dairy products for the RTB team, goat therapy opportunities, and goat meat for sale on Open Farm Days.
If you are interested in renting the goats or meat feel free to email Hannah at Hannah@roundthebendfarm.org
